A dark cloud has surrounded Zambia as they mourn their Sixth former Head of State, His Excellency President Edgar Chagwa Lungu. For this reason, Zambian gospel music artist – Joshua Nankwe Nankwe has come through with his latest song which is titled “Edgar Lungu Waya”, a tribute song to the late president. Edgar Lungu was the president of Zambia from 2015 to 2021 before he passed on at the age of 68. He was battling throat cancer and had gone to South Africa to get treatment. Sadly, on the 06th of June, 2025, he passed on while in South Africa. Edgar Lungu was the party president for the Patriotic Front (PF) in Zambia before his demise. Our sincere condolences to the family, the Patriotic Front, and Zambia as a whole.
The Zambian Music and Entertainment Industry has quite a number of interesting music artists of which some also own their own record lables. Artists like Jae Cash, was first signed to K Amy Music but later on he created his own record lable known as Apa ili So Entertainments. Others are Roberto Zambia who owns Brathahood Music, Yo Maps who owns Olios Records, Triple M who founded Not Ati Shani Entertainments and many others. Back then, the only artists who ran successful record lables were Slapdee with XYZ Entertainments and Macky 2 with Kopala Swag Music as well as Alpha Entertainments Music.
